Four of our brothers participated in Pi Beta Phi’s annual philanthropy, Color Me Literacy. Color Me Literacy is Pi Beta Phi’s Annual philanthropy supporting the Read>Lead>Achieve Initiative and First Book. 1 in every 4 children in the United States does not know how to read and we are dedicated to helping our youth become more literate. The run, which is a 5k, took place on Sunday, March 1st at 8:00am. It ran around Gemini Blvd, and finished at the Pi Beta Phi house. The color party began at 8:20, had kid activities, a live DJ, snacks and more.

A group of our brothers also participated in Theta Chi’s philanthropy event, GI Theta Chi. GI Theta Chi was created after Bob Woodruff, an alumnus of Theta Chi Fraternity was seriously injured covering a news story in Iraq. While recovering, he learned of the physical and psychological problems that many soldiers face after traumatic war injuries. The events includes a series of challenges such as tug of war and relay race.
